Maria is a trained classical singer and pianist. She started her musical journey at the tender age of five where she started playing the piano before training in classical singing at 12. Maria has been actively performing both as a soloist and chorister. She will be graduating with a BA(Hons) Music specialising in classical voice.

In 2018, Maria was the second prize winner in the American Protégé International Vocal competition. She also received a Gold Award at the Singapore Performers’ Festival 2018 in the Solo Voice category.

Maria was featured as the soloist at the Esplanade Concourse as part of the Esplanade's Cool Classic programme together with the Singapore Symphony Youth Choir in 2016. Maria has attended many masterclasses with acclaimed singers such as Barbara Bonney, Michele Crider and Bernadeta Astari.

Work

Maria is both a performing artist and music educator. Currently, she is a member of the Schola Cantorum Singapore Choir (SCS). Her recent performances include: Piano Voyage: A Night at the Opera and vocal recital The Joy Of Singing. Maria was invited to sing at the prestigious Carnegie Hall after placing second in the American Protégé International Vocal Competition 2018.

Maria has also actively participated in piano festivals and performances, such as the 2nd Overseas Piano Festival by Musique Loft, for which she won a Silver Award, and Piano Marathon held by Steinway and Sons at ION Orchard.

Maria currently teaches both vocals and piano to children and adults. Her specialty is curating lessons according to each student's needs.
