XiaoLi MaiQi
MaiQi is a classically trained pianist and a friendly and experienced music educator. She is graduating with a BA(Hons) Music specialising in classical piano performance from LASALLE in 2023 under the tutelage of Frank DeMeglio.
MaiQi also trained in guzheng and obtained a guzheng diploma in 2012. She performed for LASALLE’s annual Piano Voyage concert series in 2023 and was also a member of the Piano Voyage planning committee.
Apart from performing, MaiQi is passionate about being a great music educator. She has been teaching part-time in a music school, as well as providing piano lessons for young beginners. She aims to inspire young learners and create meaningful moments for her students.
Work
MaiQi started her music journey with the guzheng. She participated in the Singapore Youth Festival Competition in 2011 and 2013, achieving the highest honour, the Certificate of Distinction. In 2012, MaiQi was also awarded her Grade 8 ABRSM Practical Piano certificate.
During her years in LASALLE, MaiQi was involved in the prepared piano section at LASALLE’s recent Piano Voyage concert. She was also part of the committee as the assistant marketing coordinator who edited videos and took photos during the marketing process.
