Glen Chau
Glen is a free spirit who has delved deeply into improvised music across a vast spectrum of genres, spanning the traditional to the contemporary. Starting out as a guitar major, he developed a newfound passion for the trumpet which enabled him to form a deeper connection with both his music and surroundings.
Being exposed to multiple styles of music and culture from a young age has allowed Glen to fit into just about any musical setting, and given him much experience in both live and recorded musical environments. Deeply rooted in the blues, he is also passionate about music history and believes in nurturing the next generation with sincerity as every student deserves a personalised approach for the ideal learning journey.
Work
Since 2017, Glen has served as the head guitar instructor for the music programmes of both music institutes and academic schools around Singapore, helping to lay foundations for schools without a music faculty. Some notable institutions he has worked with include Dimensions International, Dempsey Academy and Florence Music.
Glen served as the guitarist for the local group Sonic Orchids, which kicked off Eden Music's livestreamed LASALLE Series of performances during the pandemic.
