Arkar is a passionate drummer and musician based in Singapore. With over 10 years of performing experience, he continues to spread the joy of music and drumming. He is graduating with a Diploma in Music from LASALLE College of the Arts in 2022, specialising in Afro-Cuban and alternative hip-hop drumming.

Arkar aims to use his knowledge of the art of drumming, as well as his creative skills in improvisational and electronic music to further elevate his performance capabilities on and off the stage. Being a reliable musician and performer, Arkar hopes to contribute towards the local and global music industry.

Work

Arkar has performed as a musician for events such as Tones Music Festival (2015), IGNITE! Music Festival (2017) and Rock Central (2018). He has participated in performances at the Esplanade with the School of the Arts (SOTA) jazz band Inked Sun on various occasions. He was the leader of the Chinese percussion ensemble of SOTA with whom he performed for the opening of National Gallery Singapore.

Aside from paid gigs at the likes of Cuba Libre, Crazy Elephant, Dempsey Hill and Gillman Baracks, he is also active in the Singaporean underground scene, playing for bands such as The Parallax Error and The New Modern lights.
