Tan Leong Boon
Leong Boon is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and composer who has garnered countless fruitful experiences throughout his LASALLE journey with guidance from lecturers Greg Lyons and Patrick Olsen.
Though his interests lie largely within J-pop and jazz, Leong Boon is consistently expanding his knowledge of music. His influences stem from a variety of artists including Roselia, Mitsukiyo, Joanna Dong and Paul Desmond. He is an active member of the AudioImage Wind Ensemble and has collaborated with local musicians such as Altoduo and Imp Act. Determined to reach or even surpass his idols, Leong Boon hopes to continue an upward tracjectory in music.
Work
Leong Boon is a featured artist in Altoduo’s single, 'Icegems', and has recorded for Imp Act’s song, 'Not Here', both of which are available on streaming services such as Spotify. In LASALLE, he performed and co-organised the Level 2 Diploma in Music showcase in 2022.
Other notable accomplishments include attaining ABRSM Grade 8 in Piano in 2021, performing at the Esplanade Concert Hall as a saxophonist in Yuying Concert Band in 2017 and obtaining a Distinction in the Singapore Youth Festival Competition with the same concert band in 2019.
